'ToDo Reminder' freeware update - 1.2.2.2
story image icon img 'ToDo Reminder' freeware has had a few more updates and is now up to version 1.2.2.2.

This is a major update, as lots of new things, list types. and specific reminders have been introduced, further elevating this software usefulness that will, nevertheless, always remain FREE for everyone to use.

If anyone remembers or uses the older DateReminder freeware that would only remind you of birthdays and other event dates, it won't be needed anymore since all it's capabilities and processes have been incorporated into 'ToDo Reminder' now! ToDo Reminder has an extra new window listing and database, as a sub-window from it's main window, to display and list only the birthdays and any other event dates you need to be reminded of, all in one small, powerful, easy to use and... FREE package. smile

This new window, created specifically for anniversaries and dates, also supports an alarm and alert option to show you 'today's anniversaries' as a pop-up dialog whenever the program is started, if you want it to. You can even configure a wav sound file and a custom text phrase to play together with it.

The main HELP file has also been updated to reflect this improvement, and a few more how-to and explanations have been added to help you use this FREEware to it's full extent. A full context help was added too, to show you the related help whenever you press F1 key from inside any application window.

A few old(er) bugs have been corrected and, hopefully, no new ones have been added! *knocks on wood*

And... hey! Download and try it, it's free after all and doesn't install anything on your computer that you don't want to. Who knows, you might even enjoy and keep using it afterwards! I know I do... have been using it for the past 20+ years, after all. wink

And as always, this and all other freeware can be downloaded from the freeware page. Keep sending your suggestions, ideas, opinions and I'll add everything I see fit to be added, ok?

Apart from some more obvious cosmetic changes, There were a few minor bugs corrected too. Also, the HELP file was not working correctly due to some compression issue - now solved - and a "context help" has also been added, for when you press the F1 key to call for the help assistance.

The 2 extra rhythm curves, Spiritual and Aesthetics, where not 'sticking' either when you selected it on options. It now does, when you re-open the program it'll show the chosen one(s) too.

As with all my FREEware, I keep using everything myself so I try to update and add more features I feel worthy or that I would like to use too. And if you like this 'Biorhythm' program too, then don't hesitate in emailing me with your ideas, suggestions, requests, at any time. smile

As always, you can download it for FREE, as well as all our other FREEware, from my freeware webpage here.

Mr Sandman ~ ♫♫
Mr. Sandman is a popular song written by Pat Ballard and published in 1954. It was first recorded in May of that year by Vaughn Monroe and his orchestra and later that year by The Chordettes and the Four Aces.

The Chordettes' single reached nº 1 on all three of Billboard's popular music charts and was ranked nº 9 in Cash Box's ranking of "1955's Top Pop Records". In 2002, the 1954 recording of the song by The Chordettes was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The song's lyrics convey a request to "Mr. Sandman" to "bring me a dream", the traditional association of the folkloric figure originating in Germanic and Scandinavian folklore. Sandman visits children in the evening, sprinkles sleep-inducing sand into their eyes and brings dreams. In the morning, the sleep sand is rubbed from the corner of the eyes...

Emmylou Harris's recording of the song was a hit in multiple countries in 1981. Other versions of the song have been produced by Chet Atkins (1954) and Bert Kaempfert (1968).

More recently, SYML - which is the solo venture of Brian Fennell, an American musician - recorded it's own interpretation cover of that same song which is consider to be an amazing rendition of "Mr. Sandman", full of feeling, beautiful sadness and loneliness vibe.

This last one really is a beautiful edition of the song, really hits inside hard... Someone made an one hour long video of it even, if you want to listen to it non-stop! I know I did... wink

Injecting plastic parts - fault diagnosis and problem solving
When injecting plastic parts and components, it's inevitable to get faults, defects and issues. You must have a robust, stable, controlled process to prevent this as much as possible.

If any injected part has been previously produced satisfactorily and it now goes wrong, something has changed. The main principle is never to change conditions immediately. The cause / reason should be identified and rectified.

Never adjust one condition to compensate for a failure or change in another condition.

For example, if melt temperature has increased, don’t reduce speeds or pressures or mold temperature to compensate. Identify the problem, that is to say reduce melt temperature, check and replacing thermocouples, etc. in order to get melt temperature back to intended.

Ask yourself questions:

•   what has changed ?
•   what is the fault ?
•   when did it start ?
•   how often does it occur ?
•   where in the part is the fault ?
•   is the fault randomly situated ..
•   .. or always in same place ?
•   etc...

Identify causes of defects:

•   test, observe, conclude
•   study 'history of faults'
•   injection, speeds, temperatures: test
•   machine, heating, mold: check
•   ....

Problem solver:

Now we'll use some method and help you solve the most common problems and issues that might show up when injecting plastic parts. Some are due to the process itself, but some come from mold issues and even from as early as part design and project!

FREE software? Yes, it is!
story image Everything on the freeware webpage has always been FREE and it will be kept like this. A few of the less useful programs have been removed and I will re-start the keeping of the remaining, most downloaded ones, now that I am retired and have plenty of time on my hands!

I know many people still use my free utilities and have been doing so for a couple decades now and that makes me fell happy, knowing something useful came out of this, after all.

If you want to help support this freeware page and if you enjoy using the freeware available and want to see it get improved, as it has been often, just go to the donations page and.. well, you know what it is for... smile

Mind you, donations are, of course, always appreciated but never, ever required, all software is and will always be free for everyone!

There is a very nice article, by the way, that you can check regarding FREE software and what most people usually think - not correctly - it is.

And, of course, keep sending me feedback on all the programs, your suggestions and opinions, what you would like to see modified or improved - and a few donations to help keep all this going - as hearing from you is what really helps me keep motivated to further develop those utility programs making them better for everyone.
